“Tropical Storm”
I am fascinated by the power of natural events which, in the space of a few minutes, can transform (and sometimes destroy!) the places they pass through.
By a strange combination of circumstances, the very day I started this project a tropical storm of rare intensity fell on Miami!
We hadn't seen such a massive rainfall in South Florida for decades to the point that the state had to declare a state of emergency!
This work later inspired a diptych that I created for a couple of Parisian collectors (see “Recent Works”).

“Wynwood Works”
Part of the six shortlisted proposals submitted to Magellan Housing LLC in collaboration with Bakehouse in a juried competition for this 120 unit affordable housing development located in our very own neighborhood, just a three-minute drive away.
In this this proposal I intended to reference different visual languages, and most specifically Tropical Modernism, an architectural style that responded to the unique climatic and cultural conditions of the Global South.
